Know Who You Are

(Start by reading Numbers 1314)

Understanding who you are: STAND OUT:

  • Have confidence!!

Caleb had guts! To silence everyone who was speaking DOUBT, & in front of the Authority figure. He had confidence!  Now there is a difference from being full-of-yourself and having confidence:

Full of yourself: very self-satisfied and with an exaggerated sense of self-worth

Confidence: Firm Trust

He said: For we can certainly do it. Now when he said that, in the natural it seemed crazy but HE KNEW WHO HE SERVED.

  • You need to see yourself the way GOD sees you.  How you see yourself determines how you carry yourself, and reflects on what you say and do. (Inward becomes outward)

The men who had gone up with Caleb and saw the same things he did, but compared themselves to grasshoppers… meaning that they saw themselves as lowly insects compared to these giants!

Proverbs 28:1-That scripture alone shows that those who are away from God or dabbling in sin, are frightened easily but those who are righteous & following God have NO reason to flee; have NO reason to be frightened but have every right to stand BOLDLY like a lion.

When you serve God you are in the LIGHT, you have nothing to hide, and you have nothing to fear because you are blameless and have the GOD backing you up in every situation!

When you see yourself like this no situation will shake you, no giant can bring you down!

Know that when you see yourself the way GOD sees you, all other voices and lies… don’t affect you!

You can get to a point where you are so full of God’s compliments and encouragement that no one else would ever need to compliment or encourage you again because you are so FULL of your Creator’s encouragement! Let God TELL you who you are to HIM!

In Numbers chapter 14, you will see the community groaning and grumbling against God… remember these people were slaves for years in Egypt and God had freed them using Moses, but now they aren’t trusting that God will take care of them.

  • You are not a Fearful person!

Joshua and Caleb were explaining the Israelite’s again that they can take that Land, and to NOT be afraid of the people of the land. They said the LORD is with us! 2 Timothy 1:7 says: For God has not given us a Spirit of Fear and timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline!

In today’s society, so much is wrapped up in FEAR, but because of CHRIST in your life, you get to live the FAITH based life! 1 Peter 5:7 says: Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

God doesn’t want us to just go through life and endure it, he wants us to ENJOY it and stand out and be a light in a world of darkness!
